Cloud Recording
MyVMS Cloud Recording allows video from existing cameras to be recorded on a remote MyVMS cloud server without installing additional recording hardware at the site.
Cloud recording can be used together with an existing local NVR, XVR or MyVMS server. Only the cameras that require additional protection need to be recorded in the cloud.
This provides an independent off-site copy of important recordings. If the local recorder is stolen or physically damaged, video already stored on the cloud server remains available.
Create a cloud server when you need it
MyVMS cloud servers are available through myvms.net .
Select the number of cameras, required disk space, total bitrate and time zone. The current daily price is calculated automatically before the server is created.
A server can be created even for a single camera, making cloud recording suitable for temporary use as well as permanent backup.
For example, before leaving a site for several days, selected critical cameras can be recorded both locally and on a remote MyVMS server.
Automatic deployment and daily billing
Add funds to your MyVMS Cloud account using Stripe and create the required server configuration.
When sufficient cloud capacity is available, the server is provisioned automatically and can be used immediately. There is no need to purchase, install or maintain a physical recording server.
Cloud servers are billed on a daily basis. You can keep a server running permanently or use it only for the period when additional remote recording is required.
If the requested resources are not currently available, the MyVMS team receives the request and prepares the additional capacity.
Larger installations
Standard configurations can be created directly through MyVMS Cloud. Larger installations or systems requiring dedicated resources can be configured individually.
For projects such as 64-camera systems, dedicated servers or other special requirements, contact MyVMS to receive an appropriate server configuration and individual pricing.
Please note: if you increase the TURN speed and save the settings, the price difference is charged immediately.
If the speed is later reduced during the same day, the difference is not refunded and will take effect on the next day.
Connecting cameras to Cloud Recording
To connect a camera or a recorder channel to MyVMS Cloud Recording, the cloud server must be able to access the camera stream. This can be a directly accessible camera, an RTSP stream, or an RTSP link provided by an NVR or XVR.
If the camera or recorder is not accessible from the Internet, there are several ways to provide remote access:
1. Port forwarding.
Configure port forwarding on the router and provide direct public access
to the required camera, recorder channel or RTSP stream.
2. MyVMS with TURN + DynDNS.
Install the free demo version of MyVMS on a computer at the site and connect the required cameras to it.
Using the
TURN + DynDNS
service, the connected cameras can be accessed remotely without configuring
incoming ports or requiring a public IP address.
The cloud server can then connect to them through MyVMS.
3. MyVMS Bridge.
For installations where you do not want to run a PC-based MyVMS server,
you can use
MyVMS Bridge
.
The Bridge connects local IP cameras to MyVMS services and allows them
to be used for cloud recording without changing the existing camera infrastructure.
